Small Book Dice Tower by Palla3Dcraft | Review

We thank Daniele Pallavicini (Palla3Dcraft) for sending us one of his products for this review: the Small Book Dice Tower. It’s a dice rolling tower that, when closed, looks like a small tome that can hold a set of dice.

You can find it here, at a cost of 25 euros plus shipping (9 euros in Italy; for international shipping, please contact the artist directly).

Images accompanying this article show just one of the possible color options. The product is, in fact, completely customizable. Let’s start with the colors, 21 in total: black, white, gray, wood, leather, pink, brown, red, orange, fuchsia, blue, light blue, green, yellow, gold, silver, blue and pink, black and red, blue and green, black and green, and rainbow. There are also 14 symbols to apply to the cover, mostly relating to the most popular classes from classic fantasy RPGs. These include barbarian, bard, cleric, druid, warrior, monk, dungeon master (in two versions), paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, warlock, and wizard. To give you a clearer view of the options, you’ll find a graphic representation below. You’ll then have the freedom to customize your own.

Let’s take a closer look at the item.

Review of the Small Book Dice Tower Aesthetic

When closed, our Small Book Dice Tower looks like a small grimoire. If you were wondering how the colors would look, we chose Sakura Pink and Hot Pink Blue, and they look very bright.

Material used is 3D plastic filament, sturdy and easy to wash (printed directly by the artist). It’s super portable, measuring 9 x 7 cm and only 3.8 cm thick. It’s made of two pieces, held together by small internal magnets that prevent it from accidentally opening and spilling the dice inside your bag.

The symbol on the cover is engraved, but it’s clearly visible thanks to the simple images chosen. Once the central section is released, a small mechanism will cause the inner section to rise, creating the slope that will allow our dice to roll.

One set is already included (the 7 standard polyhedral dice, i.e. one 4-sided die, one 6-sided die, one 8-sided die, two 10-sided die, one 12-sided die, and one 20-sided die), but the color will be random.

Final Considerations

The product is presented as a creation aimed at enthusiasts who want a personalized item but at the same time with an excellent price.

The inclusion of a set of dice with every purchase is definitely a useful addition, especially for newcomers who don’t yet own a ton of them. Its compact size also makes it perfect for taking to events and tournaments. It can also function as a simple dice holder.

It’s also a good idea if you want to give a present to someone who, for example, is currently playing a certain class with you in a campaign, or even to the gamemaster. In this case, we take no responsibility for recommending something that could be considered bribery.

There are some small production defects due to the fact that the Small Book Dice Tower is handcrafted project of a single artist and not the product of a large company. However, possibility of direct contact with the creator to decide on customization plays a decisive factor, especially since through these link we can reach you in several ways. Shipping is fast and trackable, and returns are accepted.

Perhaps time has come to support the artists of small distribution by ensuring we have a product that will distinguish us from many similar ones from large companies.
